Operation Christmas Child is a ministry of Samaritan’s purse where shoe box gifts are packed and shipped to children around the world. At Epicentre, shoe box packing is one of the highlights of our Christmas season. This is a great activity to do as individuals, families, or in Lifegroups. It’s been a great way to serve together, catch a heart for those around the world, and have fun. This year our Shoe Box Collection Sundays at Epicentre will be November 4th, 11th and 18th. There are many ways to get involved:
1) Pray. Nothing is more critical to the work of Operation Christmas Child than dedicated prayer support Please cover the project in prayer. We have free OCC prayer bookmarks available at church on Sundays.
2) Give. You can adopt-a-box that has already been packed and filled with gifts. Just visit our Operation Christmas Child table on Sunday 11/11 or 11/18.
3) Pack a box. Click on this link for a list of Gift ideas and tips on what to include and what not to include in your shoe boxes. Please remember to include $7 per shoe box for shipping and handling.
Follow your box – for options 2 & 3, you can even make your shoe box donation securely online using EZ give and learn about the country where your gift is going: http://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/OCC/followyourbox/.
