In Paul the Apostle: The Wait of Significance, Pastor John traces the larger arc of the development of Paul’s life and ministry, revealing that while he was probably converted and called to ministry around the age of 29, the greater fruit in his ministry did not take place until he was 42. Pastor John then helps us to see some of Paul’s growth areas and uses this as a practical means of helping both younger and older believers to see what God is doing today.

In How God Grows the Church into Its Fullness, Pastor John discusses the geographic as well as cultural and ethnic implications in Acts 1:8 then looks at the sweep of Acts 1-21. There, we find that it took the church awhile to understand and live out Jesus’ straightforward commands. We’re given some practicals as to how we can live that out, but also some suggestions on qualities that help us to more fully walk into the things which God has for us as individuals.

It’s a Favorable Time (Isaiah 49) – Joe Ewen

Joe Ewen speaks from Isaiah 49 about this year being a year of alignment of God’s purposes. It’s an acceptable time where God wants to do something, not only for us, but through us — and that we would touch the world today. It’s a time best fitted to the purpose of salvation. Joe encourages us to start believing that God wants to touch the lives of people, wanting to do something far above anything that we’ve ever seen or heard. All we have to do is align our lives to the purposes of God, believe what He wants to say to us, and begin to see God move.

Teaching people what we can do to make sure that our hearts are attractive to the presence of God is critical so that when they just need to know they are loved, or need wisdom in a hard situation, they can sense His presence and leading.

Easter Brunch – No Service at Cleveland

This Sunday, March 31, Epicentre will celebrate Jesus’ Life & Resurrection through Easter Brunches, lifegroup gatherings across Los Angeles and San Gabriel Valley. Our church worship site at Cleveland Elementary will be closed. Easter brunches are our way of celebrating the life of Jesus through modelling His life and power incarnationally to our friends and family. Easter brunches will have food, games, and a time to reflect on Easter, all in the context of a casual relational brunch setting. Feel free to invite your friends and family to this celebrative event.

Those Who Turned the World Right Side Up (Acts 17:6) – John Lo

In Acts 17:6, Christians were called “those who turned the world upside down”. Pastor John takes this week to talk about three practicals of being world changers and puts it in three memorable steps: (1) BLOW – Asking for the Holy Spirit to Fill Us; (2) MO – Seeing where the momentum and movement of God is; (3) GO – Going with what God is doing. Above all, Pastor John introduces us to creating “conversation space”, so the deeper issues of a person’s issues are able to come to the service, and then shares how we can connect the Bible, Jesus and the church with those needs.
